Samsung's galaxy z trifold is officially dead, for real this time

After a rollercoaster ride of canceled and restocked launches, Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold is finally out of stock for good. The company has updated the listing on its US website, announcing that the device is 'completely sold out' both online and in physical stores.

Tri-fold's wild ride comes to an end

First announced in March, the Galaxy Z TriFold briefly returned to Samsung's online store and select physical locations earlier this month. However, the pattern of limited availability followed by rapid sellouts seems to have claimed the device for good.

While Samsung's efforts to clear remaining stock are understandable, the limited availability strategy was growing tiresome for fans eager to get their hands on the innovative tri-foldable phone. But don't count the TriFold out just yet – rumors suggest a sequel, the Galaxy Z TriFold 2, is already in the works.

Leaked reports hint at a revamped hinge system that could lead to a thinner, lighter design. The Z TriFold 2 may also boast a wider display, similar to the rumored aspect ratio of the iPhone Fold and Galaxy Z Wide Fold. Time will tell if Samsung can iron out the issues that plagued the original while delivering a more mainstream-friendly experience at a competitive price.
