Samsung slashes galaxy buds 4 pro to $200, but the warranty shrinks to 90 days

Amazon’s flash-sale arm Woot is dangling the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro for $199—a clean $50 cut from Samsung’s sticker—provided you stomach a 90-day warranty. The clock runs out on 1 April, yet stock rarely waits that long.

The trade-off nobody advertises

Inside the box you get the same AI-tuned ANC 2.0, IP57 dust-and-dunk rating, and 24-bit hi-res streaming that earned the Buds 4 Pro a nod from our labs last month. What changes is the safety net: Samsung’s usual one-year guarantee evaporates, replaced by Woot’s skeletal three-month promise. Drop them in a puddle on day 91 and you’re negotiating with your conscience, not customer service.

The math is brutal. A comparable AirPods Pro 2 bundle hovers near $220 at Costco with AppleCare+ attached. Samsung’s counter-punch lands cheaper, but leaves buyers self-insuring a $200 gadget for nine months—an actuarial insult.

Who should bite?

Who should bite?

Power commuters already inside Samsung’s walled garden will exploit the Buds’ 360 Audio head tracking and on-device Live Translate the moment they pair with a Galaxy S24. For them, the savings translate to two concert tickets or a week of lattes—tempting.

Caveat emptor applies to everyone else. Refurb open-box units on eBay dip to $170 with identical risk profiles, while Amazon proper sells the US variant—full warranty, $30 gift card sweetener—at $219. The delta is a latte and a half.

Samsung won’t mourn a few hundred units slipping through the gray channel; it’s clearing runway for the Buds 5 Pro slated this August. Meanwhile, Woot moves inventory, consumers play roulette, and the real winner is whoever reads the fine print before the return window snaps shut.
