Poco loads two-day battery and 100w charge into €530 phone

Xiaomi’s youth brand just fired a €530 battery bomb at the mid-range: the POCO X8 Pro Max carries 8500mAh, enough to run TikTok for a trans-Atlantic flight and still have juice for the Uber home.

The 3 nm chip inside a €530 shell

Dimensity 9500, TSMC’s newest 3 nm node, sits where last year’s flagships parked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Translation: ray-traced Genshin at 60fps without the hand-warmer effect. POCO pairs it with 100W wired, 27W reverse and a 3500-nit panel that is readable under July sun. The message is blunt: flagship silicon no longer needs a flagship price.

Smaller sibling X8 Pro settles for Dimensity 8500-Ultra, still 15% faster than the 8300 it replaces, while the Iron Man Edition sprays Stark-approved gold over the same innards. All three ship with Xiaomi HyperOS 3, offline VoIP calls and an eSIM that activates before the box is open. Camera hardware is mid-tier polite: 50MP Light Fusion 600 sensor on the Max, Sony IMX882 on the Pro, both tuned for social-first HDR rather than lab-grade colour science.

Two-day stamina is the last spec consumers still believe. Marketing departments can fake zoom, fake AI, fake thinness; they cannot fake amp-hours. POCO just handed travellers, gig drivers and festival campers a €530 excuse to ignore Samsung’s €999 Ultra. The Iron Man paint job will move units, but the 8500mAh cell is the real flex. Expect every rival with a 5000mAh battery to look suddenly anaemic.

Pre-orders open Friday. Spotify and YouTube Premium trials are thrown in, because even superheroes need playlists.
