OnePlus's Future in Doubt as it Exits Multiple Markets

OnePlus's decision to pull out of numerous markets worldwide has left fans of the brand in a state of uncertainty. The company's upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 16, is still on the horizon, but its availability will be limited to China and India, two of the major markets it will continue to operate in.

What Made OnePlus Special in its Early Days?

Flagship specs at a lower price point, a clean and user-friendly OxygenOS, impressive speed and performance, and a dedicated enthusiast community were some of the key factors that made OnePlus stand out in its early days.

However, the company's recent performance has raised concerns about its future. The OnePlus 16, despite being an amazing phone with a large battery and a stunning display, may not be as accessible to users as previous models.

OnePlus 16: A Next-Level Flagship?

Rumors suggest that the OnePlus 16 could debut in October with a 6.78-inch display featuring ultra-narrow symmetrical bezels and a flat design. It's expected to come with a 185Hz refresh rate, which would provide outstanding, buttery-smooth visuals.

The phone might also pack a massive battery with a capacity of around 9,000 mAh, outperforming many other high-end handsets on the market. Fast charging support, likely over 100W, is also anticipated.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 16 is expected to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset for maximum performance. The camera setup could include a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP dedicated telephoto lens.

It's worth noting that the OnePlus 16 might ship with ColorOS instead of OxygenOS out of the box, as the company is reportedly adopting Oppo's operating system.
