These seemingly minor actions, multiplied across a fleet of AVs, can dramatically increase overall traffic volume.
The numbers are sobering. Researchers estimate these changes could increase congestion by as much as 6%, a seemingly small figure that translates to significant delays in already overburdened urban areas. Consider that a 1% increase in congestion can trigger cascading effects, slowing down commutes and impacting productivity.

Beyond the algorithm: the need for regulation
