Pixel 11 Pro XL Leaked: Dune Color, Tensor G6 Chip, and a Glowy Surprise
Google’s Pixel 11 Pro XL is starting to take shape, thanks to a leak from trusted leaker Evan Blass. Images surfacing ahead of the August 12th ‘Made by Google’ event reveal a device sporting a distinctive ‘Dune’ color – a peach-orange hue accented with gold highlights.
A Subtle Shift in Specs
While rumors hinted at a slight reduction in battery capacity, moving from the 5,200mAh unit of the Pixel 6 Pro to a 5,115mAh cell, the Tensor G6 application processor promises to mitigate any potential performance hit. Leveraging TSMC’s 2nm process node, Google is betting on increased energy efficiency, with estimates suggesting a 15-30% reduction in power consumption during processing tasks. This shift is further bolstered by the implementation of Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistors, a technology that minimizes current leakage and boosts drive current – ultimately leading to faster switching speeds and improved overall efficiency.

Display and Performance Under the Hood
The Pro XL is expected to feature a 6.8-inch OLED display boasting a resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels. Under the hood, the Tensor G6 will drive the device, replacing the previously problematic Exynos chip found in earlier Pixel models. Storage options are anticipated to include 256GB, 512GB, and a generous 1TB configuration. RAM allotments will mirror these storage tiers: 12GB for the 256GB variant, scaling up to 16GB for the higher-capacity models.

Camera System and New Features
The rear camera array will be headlined by a 50MP main sensor, complemented by a 48MP ultra-wide lens and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom. Google is pushing the boundaries of zoom capabilities, aiming for a 10x ‘optical-quality’ zoom achieved through sensor cropping, alongside a 120x ‘Pro Zoom’ utilizing AI-powered processing. The front-facing camera will pack a 42MP sensor.
A Touch of Novelty: The Pixel Glow
Perhaps the most intriguing addition is the ‘Pixel Glow’ – a subtle, customizable light emanating from the rear of the phone when notifications or incoming calls arrive. Each notification type will trigger a different color, providing a discreet visual cue even when the screen is turned off. This is a significant departure from traditional notification methods, aiming to enhance user awareness without disrupting the user experience.
Pricing and Availability
The Pixel 11 Pro XL is slated to launch with a starting price of $1,299 for the 256GB model with 12GB of RAM. The 512GB and 1TB variants, paired with 16GB of RAM, will retail for $1,419 and $1,649 respectively. The device will be available starting August 12th.
