T-Mobile Expands 'Friday Night 5G Lights' with $8.4 Million in Prizes

T-Mobile is expanding its ‘Friday Night 5G Lights’ program, investing over $8.4 million in prizes for small-town high schools across the US. The campaign, returning for a third season, aims to foster community pride and support local schools.

Key Prizes and Opportunities

The program offers a variety of prizes, including a $1 million football field upgrade for the grand prize winner. Additionally, over 1,000 schools will receive $5,000 prizes through weekly sweepstakes, and four schools with standout social media videos will earn $5,000 Spotlight School awards. Forty finalist schools will receive $25,000 each, with division champions taking home $250,000, a Gronk Fitness gym, and a student leadership award.

How to Participate

Eligible high schools with populations under 150,000 can apply through September 18 by submitting a short essay explaining why their football field deserves an upgrade. The first 1,500 schools to enter will receive a rally kit, and all applications are automatically entered into the weekly “5K Fridays” sweepstakes. Schools are encouraged to rally local support on social media using campaign hashtags.

‘Friday Night 5G Lights’ is part of T-Mobile’s wider commitment to supporting rural and small-town communities. The carrier has invested over $22.8 million in community development projects across 49 states and Puerto Rico since 2021, including the Hometown Grants program, which has funded over 500 projects.
