Had Apple discussed its smart glasses, currently in development, the presentation would have felt more substantial. Cook is reportedly obsessed with the technology, envisioning smart glasses as the future of smartphones. By not addressing this, Apple squandered the chance to paint a compelling picture of its vision for the industry.

A dedication to smart glasses from Cook himself would have been a fitting tribute to his legacy. It would have showcased his passion and foresight, cementing his status as a visionary leader. We would have remembered Cook's tenure not just for Siri's improvements, but for his bold predictions about the next frontier of personal technology.

Perhaps Apple simply didn't want to repeat the 2024 promise of something it couldn't deliver on time. Whatever the reason, the omission leaves a sense of disappointment and untapped potential.
